Soccer Shots is an elective program offered to children ages 3-8 that meets once a week at daycare centers, preschools and elementary schools throughout Contra Costa County for 30- to 40-minute sessions. All Soccer Shots instructors are energetic and enthusiastic, are great teachers, and love working with children. The instructors not only teach soccer skills, but also work on improving balance, coordination, and agility with the kids. Soccer Shots also uses the sessions to teach children important concepts such as teamwork, sharing, and respect. The program is offered conveniently on-site, and no special gear (cleats or shinguards) is needed. Soccer Shots is fully licensed and insured.

Local Leadership: Growing up in the Portland, OR area, with the help of a twin brother, Nicolas Speros was fortunate to learn at a young age the benefits of an active lifestyle. Throughout his life he has enjoyed many sports, with a special passion for soccer. His lifelong experience with the world’s most popular sport has helped to develop his appreciation for teamwork, coordination, and respect for self and others. After graduating from Santa Clara University in 2002 Nicolas enjoyed a successful career as a Licensed Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor, but found the Soccer Shots’ opportunity was too great to miss! He is excited to share his enthusiasm for kids, soccer, and an active well-rounded lifestyle with the communities he shares. He is also an active member of the National Soccer Coaches Assocation of America (NSCAA). Nicolas and his wife Luciene are expecting their first child, a girl, in Spring 2010.

Instructors: Soccer Shots' outstanding crew of instructors consists of local college soccer players and other highly qualified and motivated soccer coaches. Their #1 goal is to make sure your child is having fun, being safe, and learning basic soccer skills, teamwork, and fair play. All Soccer Shots instructors are background checked.

Soccer Shots Global Goals is the philanthropic arm of Soccer Shots. Through this non-profit organization we seek to impact children involved in our Soccer Shots program as well as positively influence disadvantaged children in the US and around the world.

Inspired by the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Soccer Shots Global Goals will focus on Khayelitsha, South Africa. A township outside of Cape Town where many children have lost parents to HIV/AIDS and are in the care of the community. Our renowned and proven partner, Amandla Ku Lutsha, empowers and educates homeless and orphaned youth through education and soccer. In order to reach our financial goal of 30k by summer 201-, $1 of your child's registration fee will go toward this pledge.
